So what can a Drone Survey do for you?
Roof Coverings
Identification of loose and slipped tiles/slates which may allow
water to ingress your property. Long term water exposure
to roof timbers can result in sever structural damage which
is often not covered by your Buildings Insurance.

Storm Damage
Storm damage to buildings can be extensive and the full extent
of the loss difficult to ascertain from a ground level perspective.
Impact damage by fallen trees, fragile chimney stacks and
displaced coverings make for a hazardous
environment for both the occupants and neighbours.

Often builders and Surveyors will be unable to
carry out a full and accurate inspection largely
due to lack of accessibility and safety concerns
which could influence any Building Insurance Claim.

Lead Flashings
Defective lead flashings through poor installation, inadequate
repairs and gradual degradation can all leave your roof structure
susceptible to long term exposure to water ingress which
may result in timber decay, mould and partial instability
concerns.
One of the most common causes of environmental
water ingress, is attributed to defective back-gutters
which sit the behind of the chimney stack where the stack projects
from the roofline. The first sign of damage will often be saturation
to bedroom walls particularly around the chimney breast.
Unfortunately inspections of this area often require a full scaffold
due to their sheltered location sited behind the stack.
Scaffolding for a domestic house can run in to thousands of pounds.

Elevations
External elevations, particularly on older dwellings often suffer from
inherent damp and mould at high levels, largely due to defective bricks
and mortar which erode over time through cyclical weathering.
The consequence of this can be cold-bridging which may lead to
mould, elevated moisture retention and ultimately failure of inner wall
plasters. Long term mortar erosion can have a considerable impact
on building stability.
Timber framed windows including 'Velux' will gradually degrade
over time resulting in decay and instability of the glazing. Due to
varying heights of buildings, particularly those that have been
remodelled to incorporate 3rd storey loft conversions will require
a full scaffold to undertake an inspection at considerable time and expense.

Gutters & Downpipes
Defective, blocked and leaking gutters and downpipes are a common
cause of penetrating damp within the U.K particularly on older and
period dwellings. If left untreated, this can lead to mould and internal
dampness ultimately affecting the health and well-being of the
occupants.
Restricted access to the these elements makes it both challenging
and expensive to assess, isolate and repair and will quite often require
scaffolding to determine the root cause of the problem.

Chimney Stacks
A combination of erosion, acid attack and salt crystallisation are
liable to cause a chimney to lean over time resulting in instability
and risk of partial or full collapse, particularly during periods of
high winds.
Being the most exposed and elevated point on a house, gaining
a safe means of  access to the chimney will always require scaffolding
to determine the full extent of any structural issues.
